The Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram in the Greater Accra, Sam George has equal people who have increase their goods because of the COVID-19 to murderers.
Sam George made the assertion when he present items worth Gh57, 000.00 cedis to the Ningo-Prampram District as part of his role in the fight against COVID-19.
The items he presented were hand sanitizers, nose mask, gloves, Veronica Buckets, bowls and personal protective equipment which are to be distributed to medical facilities in the District.
He indicated that the prices of the items he bought have tripled which he noted as very bad and should be condemned.
The Ningo-Prampram Legislator noted that he could have bought more of the items but the prices were exorbitant.
He indicated that the character exhibited by the sellers of the items could be equal to murderers.
Medical Director for the Ningo-Prampram District, Madam Gifty Ofori Ansah commended the MP for the kind gesture and promised that the items would be used for the purpose they were brought.
Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in Ghana, prices of hand sanitizers which are to be used to prevent the spread of the virus have shot-up some as high as 200 percent.
The situation has pushed some companies such as Kasapreko Company Limited, GIHOC Distillers and educational institutions such as Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and Sunyani Technical University to go into mass hand sanitizer production.
