The Municipal Chief Executive for Keta, Godwin Edudzi Effah, has denied news making rounds that he has ordered the closure of Jubilee FM located in the community.
According the MCE, a host of the radio station was creating fear and panic in the community that a COV-19 patient has been allowed to infect the people in Keta.
“The host was misinforming the residents that the Municipal Assembly and the Ghana Health Service have allowed a COVID-19 patient to be walking in the community and infecting people which is not true. We had a suspected case of a sailor who was brought by some fishermen we have kept in isolation, his samples have been sent to Nguchi and we are waiting for the feedback,” Mr. Effah noted.
He noted that the fishermen are also been kept and been monitored. “The host was invited by the Police and he reported himself. The Regional Minister has never asked me to close down any radio station.”
