A 24-year-old Herbalist, Isaac Mensah, has been jailed five years by the Cape Coast Circuit Court in the Central Region for dealing in human parts and fake currency.
Though Isaac Mensah pleaded not guilty, Mrs Dorinda Arthur Smith after the trial sentenced him to five years in prison in hard labour.
Presenting the facts the Prosecutor, Police Sergeant Iddrissu Yakubu disclosed that Isaac Mensah gave GH 500 cedis to one Emmanuel Akonnor. Emmanuel Akonnor subsequently went to the complainant, Evans Boakye who is a Mobile Money Merchant to deposit the money on his wallet.
Evans Boakye was suspicious that the money could be fake so he called for the arrest of Emmanuel Akonnor.
When confronted by the police,Emmanuel Akonnor discloed that Isaac Mensah who is herbalist based at Ankaful near Cape Coast was the one gave the money to him, Mensah was later arrested and put before the Cape Coast Circuit Court.
During the investigations, a human skull was found in his room and unspecified fake currencies were also found in his possession.
Sergeant Yakubu noted that the fake currencies have been handed over to the Bank of Ghana (BOG).
